Samuel Oscar Johnson, by oral history, is descended from General Braddock (from England) and an enslaved woman. The Braddocks lived in Greenbrier County. Ethel Celina Haynes is the daughter of George Washington Haynes and Elizabeth Jane Payne Haynes Haynes Lewis & they are from Sinks Grove, Monroe County and then they moved to Brushy Ridge, GC. Samuel is buried at the Old Colored Cemetery in Greenbrier. Ethel moved to Wheeling. The daughter Eva lived most of her life in Summers County and then in Wheeling though she died in Florida.
